As we mentioned in our previous post about Podisti, Saturday is the hiking-day in Cupra Montana! And yesterday it was the turn of Valle Scappuccia, a beautiful valley south of Arcevia. It is an affordable hiking trail all year long, unless it had been raining considerably. It goes without saying, that in Spring and Summer nature offers its most beautiful gifts.
There are several paths to reach Valle Scappuccia, and today we will present the easiest one: from Genga direction Rocchetta. To start with, you park at the hamlet Capo La Villa, and start the hike that goes up to the hill. You’ll come across the first (and only obstacle): a steep climb of 300m. After that, turn right and follow the signs for the 107D path through a dense forest directly towards the Valle Scappuccia. Definitely a spot for your picnic session in a warmer day!
You’ll follow the brook’s bed: you may find water or not, depending on the season, and then be rewarded for all the efforts at a magical place: an overhanging rock.
The spectacular part is that you can actually walk into the rock wall. To get out to this rock formation, you may need to wet your feet, but don’t worry! The view is worth it, and out of a sudden you’ll be standing on the asphalt road. Take this road to the right and keep following it to the hamlet of Capo La Villa. An easy walk for the non-trained fellow man!
